Dear Old Owls,

Last July The Yale Record Corporation, the 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting The Record and its alumni, elected a new board of directors. Since then, we’ve been hard at work organizing alumni events in New York, fundraising for a new memorial award, and meeting with the students in New Haven.

One of our goals was to keep you informed through a quarterly newsletter, and as the end of March drew near, who but Old Owl himself came a-rapping to make sure Issue #1 made it out my chamber door. Sure, repeatedly spilling Cutty Sark on the keyboard doesn't fit the dictionary definition of helping (OO insists that twice should not be considered "repeatedly"). And certainly, igniting my couch with a misplaced cigar didn't exactly expedite the process (OO insists I mention it was a Cohiba Pyramide, although I don't see the relevance). But I must say that since his arrival, there are far fewer squirrels bogarting the bird feeder, and far fewer of the neighbor's cats bogarting the squirrels, so we'll call it a wash.
