Happy Holidays to everyone! It’s been a cold and dreary semester in New Haven, but luckily, The Yale Record, with your support has been able to make it through. This year students have already published 2 issues. You can see the full issues online:

If you’re looking for more Yale Record fun, we’re having our next Yale Record Student and Alumni Game Night on December 16th at 7:00. We had a couple of these over the summer and it was a great bonding time for both students and alumni. We will likely have a number of The Yale Record’s student leadership there. Upcoming Alumni Issue – Please Join Us
 
The Yale Record’s 150th anniversary is coming up and we want to do something special. We are creating a special anniversary issue of The Yale Record for the Holidays of 2021. We want it to be a fun professional collaboration. It’ll look like Michael Gerber’s (OO ’91) American Bystander Holiday Issue which you can view here. But we need your help. We’re looking for writers, artists, designers, or anyone who would like to be part of this endeavor. Email robert@schlaff.com if you’re interested.

The COVID -19 pandemic has dried up the already anemic New Haven ad market, hindered staff recruitment, and made it impossible for The Record staff to meet in person. Without alumni support, these impacts could hinder the students for years. Our alumni-funded and managed endowment is an essential safety net.
 
To help the students meet these challenges, the YRC has agreed to double the student board’s stipend for 2020-2021. We feel confident in making this pledge due to the tremendous support from our alumni through the years.
 
In addition to directly supporting the student magazine, the YRC also preserves The Yale Record archives, administers prizes, and organizes alumni gatherings (including digital events).
