Here's a ray of light for all of you who have been in lockdown in a bunker for the last few years. The Yale Record is having a Masters Tea! As you know, these are normally intimate gatherings in the Master's residence for a select few, but in a special cross-promotion with the global pandemic and our friends at The Yale Record, we are able to make this Master's Tea available to you from the comfort of your own home.

As you can imagine, the COVID-19 pandemic has dried up the already anemic New Haven ad market, hindered staff recruitment, and made it impossible for The Yale Record staff to meet in person. Without alumni support, these impacts could have hindered the students for years. Thank you for coming through with your support this year.
 
In addition to directly supporting the student magazine, the YRC also preserves The Yale Record archives, administers prizes, and organizes alumni gatherings (including digital events).

The Yale Record Coins the Word Hot Dog

In the late 1800s, there was no common word for a warm sausage in a bun. The Yale Record wouldn't stand for this, creating the term "hot dog" that we now know and love. When I was on the magazine in 1998 we bit into the history of The Yale Record's relationship to the Hot Dog.
